She is an accomplished Graphic Designer and this is her debut exhibition about...yup you guessed it DREAMS. It is a clever and creative display of found objects with the word DREAM painted on them. On the real though, the pull that both Cold Turkey and KOL have, was evident last Friday night, as Cape Town's party-people descended onto Zula's new dance-floors. Being a new Mother and all, one really has to be prudent in choosing where to go for fun. It wasn't even a question though, come Friday, where I would go to break my sabbatical. I was not disappointed and I'm sure I speak for the majority of folks that were in attendance. Shout outs to Doepel for making a girl sweat it out to your jams. Too bad we had a curfew and had to be out, meaning we missed Raiko spin. But I'm hoping that this isn't the last of it's kind. Well-done to you Anthea, Raiko and Akio. Looking forward to the next.

I have great plans for the bare walls of our home. Soon come. Anyway, I ushered in my 30th year-on-the third-rock-from-the-sun, drunk. Wow, i must have had a few drinks that felt like one too many. I hadn't touched a Hunter's Dry or Strawberry daiquiri in almost a year! One can only imagine how dramatic my hangover was on my actual day, yikes! But, none of this would have happened without the undercover work of my homie-lover-friend. My human, organized the whole thing, the barman, the DJs and inviting folks. This was a first. This was over and beyond any of my expectations. Thanks to each and everyone that was there and that helped out. You are loved. Thank you for making me feel loved.

Happy to know that the Mill is also operational on Sundays too. Suspect that'll be my day of choice to go through. It's a friday evening and had i gone according to my original plan, we would've been back home in myJoHo getting ready to attend StrCrd. But, I decided otherwise. Hello, this is me and my baby girl...Say wasup nana (: She just hit her big 3month milestone this past week. What a sweet child the gods have blessed me with. I silently pray that this never changes. She is a Gemini and I'm a Scorpio. My late father was a Gemini...She was also born 3 days after his death...Still waiting to hear his spirit in her newborn tears...As babies do, she has changed since being born, her face that is...she came out looking like me, then transformed into a miniature version of both her father and I, now I'm told she looks like my sister and her dad. I cant tell anymore. Happy that we have seen the back of the most severe eczema on her precious face and body): It was making me weep, until we consulted a dermatologist earlier this week, she has made a vast improvement (: Have been home for the past week, talk about a long overdue visit. I can't lie, it feels good being home. Getting all the help and emotional support a new mom could ever ask for. Nothing means more to me than family.

It's been a while since my last Hello post...wait a second, that's exactly how I opened my last Hello post a few months back... Wow, so much has gone on since then. I've since given birth to an incredibly sweet baby girl, who turns 3months this Tuesday. Goodness, I.AM.A.MOTHER! Still sinking in...it's so surreal. I had this grand idea of starting dreadlocks to mark and symbolize the birth of my child, but as you can see, I have since abandoned that thought. I am a Scorpio for goodness sake, I can't have the same image that Dreadlocks demand! I need the freedom an Afro affords me and my scads of personalities.

A few months ago I got a call from Nosisi of HEAVEYOUHEARD, informing me that I had been identified as one of the ICONS that RayBan wanted to associate itself with. I was on the other end of the line like "Shut the front door!" Hahaha. I mean, I have been donning the brand for years now, but to be approached and asked to be an 'Ambassador' is what I call "Tastemaker" status.

Lastweek Thursday myself and a few other handpicked Tastemakers met up in town, with key individuals from HaveYouHeard and RayBan respectively, for a brief brand history presentation. At the end of the evening, we were told that we could choose any frame we liked, keep it and of-course wear it as often as possible...err that should be no problem (: I decided on the Clubmaster, I have enough Wayfares and Aviators to last me another 70years thanks.

The Beginning of our true life...

Well folks, here she is, our pride and joy. If you see me and the dark rings around my eyes, it's all thanks to this little one, for keeping me up all night while she sleeps through out the day (: Because of God, the Stars and our Ancestors, I can now call myself a mother. I can't begin to tell you what that feels like. Her names are Tshimollo (the beginning) ; Nthabiseng (Make me Happy) ; Motlalepule (Rain barer ) ; Mangaliso (Amazing). A mouthful, but I will have you know, she was named by both her grand-mothers, her great grand-mother and by us of-course.

This is truly the beginning of our true life.

JOHO / LAGOS: MTVBase, launched its new mini-documentary series on the 6th of June 2011, titled Touching Base. And to be completely honest, had no idea this was in the pipelines. The doccie aims to bring us a new generation of Afro-kool in Afrikan urban culture. It's basically about our peers doing great things else where on our Afrika. I am honored to have come home to a package from the good people of MTVBase. Thank you very much from the bottom of my taste-making heart. Shout out to Maria McCloy.

What a night. I haven't been out in a very long time. But I got a call from Sanele asking what I would be up to come Friday evening...I knew that by him asking that, it meant two things...that he was going to be in town and that there was a party to follow. Tinker did it again and so did Shelflife mind you. With a brand new spacious set, the store has just keeps getting bigger and better. I surprised myself, with the amount of energy I had the entire night. Think being overwhelmed was a big part of my buzz. I hadn't been out to a party since Doepelganger owned District6 a few months back. This was my last outing, as I am about to enter parenthood very very soon (:

This is called the Camedoo Breakfast. I asked them to minus the baked beans and mushrooms. I also suspect that sausage was game, i pretty much left it as is. But what i loved was the strawberry sauce they drizzled. Made for lovely subtle sweet explosion in my mouth.

Andy is loved even in the heart of the Karoo...

Graff Reinet is actually named after a couple. It is also the 4th oldest town in South Afrika. My first trip out there and I wasn't disappointed at all. All small towns are the same, one or two main streets and the racial lines are clearly marked, with the working force settled in the slums while the White folk live comfortably in their brilliant white and emerald green houses...Hang on, that's the entire country actually.

I so wanted to shoot the ghetto's but I didn't. Infact I wanted to do a whole lot of shooting, but my lazy arm won. I just soaked in the experience in solitude and reflection. Graff Reinet or 'Graff' is rich in history. Some of the land's biggest pioneers came from this dorpie. Ever heard of the Rupert family? What about Oom Beyers Naude? And one Mangaliso Robert Sobukwe? These men share one thing in common, Graff.
